Daman Beach

Daman Beach

Daman Beach - 31st Dec. 2022

Pranjal and Aadi's Christmas Vacation was going on. I also took 4 days leave from the work. We were planning to go to Pandharpur for 3 days but somehow it was not working. Two days spent at home. On the third day ie 31st December 2022, we were thinking about where to go. We wanted to go nearby place for two days. After a lot of thinking, we decided to head towards Gujarat and then finalized Daman as our holiday destination. Exactly, last year we visited Statue of Unity in Gujarat in December 2021. We packed all the stuff for two days stay and were very excited to go out for vacation. We started our short trip to Daman around 11 am in a car. On the way, we were searching online for the hotel but most of the hotels were booked. We decided to try our luck after reaching there.

How to reach Daman Beach

You can go to Daman by train, bus or car. The train is the fastest. You can go by public bus or drive yourself. Daman has a good network of roads and this place is easily accessible by road. It is connected to National Highway. It is always better to travel in your car. So you can roam around the city without any problem.

Hotel Ahura Dahanu

We started our journey and reached national highway 48. We wanted to stop for our lunch but could not find a good restaurant. This time we did not want to go to McDonald but Aadi was wishing for the same. Many hotels and dhabas were passing by and we were going ahead. Three of them wanted to eat non-vegetarian. And there we reached Hotel Ahura, a Parsi restaurant on NH 48 Highway, Ambivali, near Dahanu.

We ordered vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes with nan, roti, rice etc. The food was very very delicious and tasty. The food quality and quantity were good. The customer service was excellent. We were pleased with the food and service.

There is an attached outlet shop to this restaurant where they sell bakery products, spices, pickles and dry fruits. I found prices a little high so I did not buy anything. Our tummies were happy and satisfied. We started our journey towards Daman.

Daman Beach

We left Highway and entered the territory of Daman. The place was eye-catching and clean. We traveled towards Daman Beach and reached there by 4 PM. There was a fall of tides and the sea was not in sight. We trolled on the beach. Pranjal and I collected different shapes and colors of shells and stones. This is Pranjal's favorite thing. She likes to collect stones wherever she goes. She is fond of that. Many times, she colors and decorates these stones. After a few days, I throw them because I don't understand what to do with them. But this time, I also collected shells with her because she wanted to make jewelry from them. Unfortunately, we did not carry any bags to store them. All the stuff was there in the car which we parked far away. I gave her my shawl and she put all in that. It was not so cold. The weather was pleasant.

There was not so much public on the beach. Then we saw the crowd at a far away distance from this beach. We could see some water sports over there. So we decided to go there. We went to the car and went in that direction.

That beach was crowdy. Many hackers were selling bhel-puri, peanuts, daliya, ice cream, cotton candy etc. Several water sports were there including some game zones for children. Recently, we went to Malvan where we enjoyed water sports so Pranjal and Aadi were not interested to do it and wet their clothes. We spent a good amount of time there.

Moti Daman Fort

We could see fort-like structure from the beach. So we went there. It was a small fort built to keep watch on the sea in olden times. We could see harbour view. In the 16th century, a fort was built in Daman to guard against the Mughals, who ruled this area before the Portuguese arrived. This fort is one of the popular monuments for its colonial-style architecture. We took the whole round of the fort and watched the sunset from here.

We all were silently watching the water sports on one side of the beach and small ships and boats on the other side of the beach. The view was very pleasant.

Green Plant Maze

There was a green plant maze outside the Fort. It was almost dark and no one was there. We entered the maze and started finding the end. It was not that hard. After some trials, we reached the exit. It was fun. Very often, we adults should behave like a child and enjoy the small things. It gives enormous pleasure. We had a good laugh while searching for the way. Aadi was leading us and we have him the opportunity to do so. When we used to reach the blockage in the way, he would turn around and lead us to a new way.

It was dark when we came out of the maze. We decided to stay in Daman so we started finding hotels. Almost all hotels were booked due to new year's eve. At last, we decided to return. On the way, we visited two plant nurseries. While returning, we had dinner at McDonald's and reached home by 11 PM.
