Govardhan Eco Village Wada

Govardhan Eco Village - 9th Dec. 2022

Wada, Palghar

It was our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We decided to spend the whole day together. Surprisingly, Prasanna spared time for us without much flattering. He decided to go to Mahalaxmi Temple, Dahanu. Pranjal and Aadi did not willing to visit any temple but they wanted to go out and we decided to have lunch in MacDonald so they got ready. Amma also accompanied us. We left home around 10 am in the morning and headed toward Dahanu in a car. We reached there within 1 hour.

Mahalaxmi Temple Dahanu

While going to Temple, we bought a few things from the roadside, earrings, bangles, keychains etc. We took Pooja Thali and Lotus for Goddess. Goddess Mahalaxmi at Dahanu is considered one of the Jagrut Daivat. Many devotees visit the temple for worship. There is a rush at the temple almost every day. We offered our prayers to Mahalaxmi Mata. It was very peaceful. We chanted a few mantras. We took Pradakshina. I was very happy that my children can recite Sanskrit shlokas. It is very important that we parents should teach them religious prayers. Shlokas bring lots of positivity and a flow of good energy. They reduce stress and tension and make our minds and souls peaceful. Shlokas keep us on the righteous path and stay away from negative thinking. We took some pictures outside the temple.

While returning, we had sugarcane juice and bought some authentic vegetables. We went to MacDonald's and had lunch there. I met my colleagues there who returned from Govardhan Eco Village. We decided to go there. We bought a few things in that mall and headed towards Wada.

Govardhan Eco Village

It is the interior side of Hamrapur in a silent area. The place is naturally beautiful and very calm. We parked our car. Entry is free. We did online registration to get entry inside. We were waiting there in the garden. Aadi was having fun rolling down the hill.

Replica of Vrindavan

One person like sanyasi came there and leaded our group to take the round of Govardhan Village where the replica of Vrindavan is created. He was telling stories of Krishna from his birth. He was interacting with the group. All the children were in front including Pranjal and Aadi. He asked both of them the meaning of their names. To my surprise, Aadi told that the meaning of his name is etc, Can you believe he considered Aadi with Etyadi and said etc? I had a good laugh at him.

The first spot in Govardhan village is the Yamuna river. Krishna and his friends are sitting here in a circle and enjoying their midday meal. This is called Gopal-Kala which is nothing but today's Dabba party.

In the below picture, you can see Ras-Leela. Every Gopi thinks, Krishna is dancing with her only. While there would be several Roopas of Krishna dancing with all the Gopis. God can do anything for his Bhaktas. The happiness of Bhaktas becomes the happiness of God.

Krishna and his friends are grazing the cattle. Krishna is playing flute and all are enjoying the melody. It is said that there was unimaginable power in Krishana's murali which used to hypnotize the people. They used to lose their cautiousness while listening to his music.

The below picture depicts that there is an ansh of God in everyone, This picture has an inner meaning. When we understand this truth, we become more loving and kind to others. The other person is nothing but the image of God is enough to handle our anger, jealousy and pride.

The following image shows the incident when Krishna was leaving Vrindavan and going to Mathura. All Gopis stood in the way of his Ratha. This could be the first Rasta Roko Andolan in History.

This is the famous story where Krishna lifted Govardhan Parvat on this little finger and provided shelter to all the villagers and animals in heavy rain. It shows that when our intentions are pure and we want to provide service to humankind then we can do impossible things easily.

We attended evening Bhajans at one place and then Yamuna Aarti at the river bank. It was an experience that cannot be written in words. One has to experience it personally. At last, we went to the temple and took Darshan of Krishna. I took Prasad as Khichadi.

We had some snacks in the Canteen which was very clean. It was almost dark. We did some shopping in their shop and returned home. We ordered some food and had it together at home.
